Brand Spanking New - The Grounds of Alexandria

Coffee connoisseurs meet designer digs in Alexandria’s brand new hotspot: The Grounds (get it?).  This urban garden oasis in the trendy city south is the lovechild of ideas-man Ramsey Choker and former World Latte Art Champion Jack Hanna.

After a day of trawling antique warehouses and drowning in a sea of luxe home wares, there are few sites better than right here.  The grounds are industrial-cool, an impeccably designed indoor/outdoor space, comfortable and rustic rather than cold and sparse. From the chalkboards to the helpful signage, everything is well thought-out courtesy of expert interior design.

Sip on artisan coffee, and feast on generous portions of culinary gems like:

Confit of ocean trout with pearl barley and slow braised lamb and pea parpadelle.

Don’t let the unpretentious (and kid/dog friendly!) vibe throw you – there is some serious culinary skill happening here. Expect to leave wide-eyed and well fed.
